Abstract:

This study investigates the relationship between learning styles and the academic achievement of Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) students to maximize educational outcomes. The effectiveness of vocational education programs can be increased by developing curriculum and implementing specialized teaching tactics based on an understanding of how individual learning preferences affect academic success in TVL programs. The study used a descriptive-correlational research methodology to examine the connection between learning styles and academic achievement among Grade 12 TVL students at President Manuel A. Roxas National High School. All 93 students enrolled in different TVL tracks participated. To investigate the impact of visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic learning styles on academic achievement, data were gathered using a checklist questionnaire that was modified from the VARK model questionnaire. Frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, and Spearman Rho correlation were used in the statistical analysis. According to the study, TVL students at President Manuel A. Roxas National High School, who were primarily between the ages of 18 and 24, had a variety of learning styles that had a big impact on their academic achievement. Interventions such as encouraging gender diversity in career choices and adapting teaching strategies to suit various learning styles are advised to enhance results. The study identifies gender-specific vocational preferences and shows that TVL students' learning styles significantly influence their academic achievement. Future studies should examine other variables that affect student performance and assess how well interventions that are meant to improve academic results in TVL programs work.
